Arkham City College (formerly Arkham Community College) was founded in Arkham, Massachusetts to provided academic excellence for the community and working professionals. The College provides much of the same academic material as its more prestigious neighbor, Miskatonic University. However the course work is oriented more toward practical application and vocational instruction than it's larger, more well known neighbor.
(ACC is to Pulp Cthulhu what Miskatonic University is to CoC. The Expeditionary Society is a IRL club putting the pulp back into the world).

The college is also home to somewhat secretive organization The Arkham City College - Expeditionary Society, a small club of amateur investigators, explorers, Rusticators, and lay scientists dedicated to journey and exploration, particularly of those places less traveled and obscured from the casual observer. Curious places, dark corners, oddities, Fortean incidents, urban ruins, are all subjects which the organization is dedicated to exploring, documenting, and cataloging.

Founded by Inspector Achibald "Harry" Tuttle, the Society is also dedicated to reviving the salon using thematic muses to "poke up sluggish intellectual fires". Its goal is to promote an environment that "aut delectare aut prodesse est" (pleases or educates) and promotes a community of people who are seeking fellowship with similar persons of odd nature. The club pays homage to the social clubs of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
